General Information

The KIP is the initial core of the KIParla project. Its construction began in 2016 and was completed in May 2019. It contains conversations totaling approximately 70 hours and 661,175 tokens.

Within this module, recordings made at the Universities of Turin and Bologna are present, covering five types of communicative situations. The resource is thus characterized by significant homogeneity concerning the sociodemographic characteristics of the speakers—students and faculty—who, from a sociolinguistic perspective, represent the highest stratum of social variation.

The types of interaction considered are:

  • Lessons: 25:45: 12
  • Exams: 6:20:22
  • Office hours: 6:48:19
  • Semi-structured interviews with students: 14:6:15
  • Free conversation: 16:23:33
  • TOTAL: 69:23:08
