General Information

General Information

ParlaBO is the fourth module of the KIParla Corpus and comprises over 65 hours of spoken language. It consists of conversations involving more than 150 speakers with diverse geographical origins and social backgrounds, collected in Bologna between 2021 and 2024 through semi-structured interviews on various topics (study, work, leisure or retirement activities, past memories, city life, traditions, local customs, etc.).

The recording hours are nearly equally distributed among young, adult, and elderly speakers, as reported below:

  • Young (16 to 29 years old): 18:46:50
  • Adults (30 to 59 years old): 24:21:43
  • Elderly (over 60 years old): 22:34:52
  • TOTAL: 65:43:25

Among the collected data, several dialectal insertions are present. In the transcription, a '#' is found on the first word of the transcription unit containing at least one dialectal word.
